Arsenal In Crisis As Adebayor Now Demands £80,000

According to the Daily Mail, Emmanuel Adebayor has threatened to throw Arsenal into full-blown crisis by following Mathieu Flamini and Alexander Hleb out the door unless they make him into one of the Premier League's top earners.

Arsene Wenger's best laid plans are in ruins after Flamini and Hleb have opted to leave for different sides of the Milan divide, and now the Gunners' top scorer from last season is allegedly demanding £80,000 a week to stay at the club.

Flamini has joined Milan on a Bosman, while Helb is expected to join Inter in the coming two weeks after turning Arsenal's contract offer down.

Adebayor, 24, is currently on £35,000 a week from a contract he signed last summer, but word is that he and his agent are looking to exploit the club's desperation as well as the fact that Barcelona and AC Milan have been hovering over him for some time.

This would contradict recent quotes attributed to him, however, in which he declared that he is staying at the Emirates and eager to continue improving in the hopes of truly establishing himself as one of the best strikers in the world.

The report claims that he is looking to stay put, but only if the club put him at par with best paid players in the league.

It should also be pointed out that is is still not certain that Alexander Hleb is leaving the club. The Belarus star's agent has claimed that he has informed Arsenal that his client is planning to leave the club, but unless Arsenal agree to the sale he will be forced to try to activate a buyout option (known as the Webster Clause).

Its such a pitty that gunners will keep having same problem season by season, not until they learn the habit of spending, they are simply greedy. all they want is buy players with small prices and sell them large amount, at the end they have nothing to show for it.....WHAT A PITTY.

dont think adebayo actually deserves 80 thousand aweek. 40,maybe but 80 is definetly silly. the guy's game is just good enough. god knows we wouldnt be where we are if he had put acouple more goals in the net!!!!!!!!!

Adebayor isn't asking for more, that's just the news paper stirring up tension. Ade is loyal, I know, but he's certaintly worth more than £30,000. When his contract is to be renewed then he should get £55,000.

adebayor is to good of a footballer to be making only 30,000. If he isn't paid according to his actual value to us, it is only right that he would leave. you cant try to underpay the best striker on the club and expect him to remain with us.

well even if ADE didn't declare his salary but i think it is truly a low salary. Cmon ur in ENGLAND in the EPL guys. tv rights, buisness, commercials,money........ epl is one of the richest league in the world if not the richest. 7-10 years ago wenger's policy was successful and it would work but now with all that money u cant give ur first team players eg:flamini or ADe 30,000 as a salary. if you keep this policy on arsneal will be having a big change in their players every year which will have a negative effect on the consistency of the team. and they critisize benitez on his ROTATION POLICY.

Arsenal is a cheap a.. club. 35000 pounds a week for a footballer of that quality is ridiculous. Seems some of u would willing work for less when u can get more..

if u are in a team that plays sweet attacking football like arsenal, its not difficlut to score over 20 goals a season. ade is a good player but he has not developed into a Torres or a drogba yet. he doesn't deserve that, bt the sad thing is that clubs like milan are poaching an is either u pay him or he leaves. i would let him leave just like anelka did and go for a david villa or roque santa cruz who are more clinical than e his an just as good in the air. ade is proving to be a big money grabber, it was the same way he acted with his national team at and after the world cup. so let him leave if he his not happy.

what a load of old rubbish this is someone making a mountain out of a molehill adebayor says he's happy at arsenal, (and lets face it who wouldn't be) i'm not worried. And flamini's an idiot to have walked out on arsenal. what exactly is he going to achieve at ac milan arsenal can achieve 10 times more than them - we proved that in the champion's league game if all he wants is money then im glad he left arsenal hleb would be stupid to go too but i hope he doesnt 'cos he's actually a very decent player

Adebayor is a work in progress, he lacks in technical skills but will improve,he is better than do a dozen players in the EPL who are making more than 80,000,if you don`t pay him that amount someone else will and will be rewarded by his presence in the team.
